The camp was started on 15th February 2014. The total number of IDPs in the camp in 2019 is above 2,000. The committee members that work at the camp are Chairman, Vice-chairman, Secretary, Women leader, P.R.O & Store-keeper. The camp is divided into eleven (11) groups each governed by their respective leaders. Members of this camp were affected by terrorist acts in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria.
The displaced people are from 3 states:
- Borno State
- Yobe State
- Adamawa State
Essential immediate needs in the camp are:
- Empowerment
- Vehicle for carrying emergency victims
- Healthcare/medical checkups
- Food items
- Education for the children
- Boreholes/source of water
During our visit to the camp, we provided them the essential items such as bags of rice, Indomie noodles, salt, detergents, toiletries, dry food such as biscuits and fruit juices amongst others.
